Replacement hedge planting dates – can you help?
Amber weather warnings and forecasts of snow for Shropshire last week alas put paid to 4 of the 5 plantings we had on our books since Nick at Bucknell Nursery was unable to lift the whips from frosted ground.
So we have been busy re-arranging dates, as follows. Can you help with any of these?
- Bishops Castle Tennis Club – (was 9 January) – new date: Weds 4 February
- Edgmond Outdoor Learning Centre (was 10 January) – new date: Saturday 7 February
- Bog Hill Farm (was 11 January) – new date: Sunday 22 February
We are back at Myndtown Farm (Plowden, Bishops Castle) tomorrow, Thursday 15th January at a new planting funded by Severn Rivers Trust. If you happen to be free and would like to join us planting, do let us know – we have 300m to do here.
If you can help us plant on any of these dates do email Sarah on the usual email address: admin@cpreshropshire.org.uk, or fill in the form on our website: cpreshropshire.org.uk/help-us-plant-hedges
There will be a couple of new hedge sites announced shortly funded by the Severn Rivers Trust in the south of the county. More info on these soon.
Thank you!

Restoring Hedgerows, Reviving Landscapes
Wednesday 21 January, 7-8.39pm on Zoom
Hear from Jane Reeve (who heads up the CPRE Sussex Hedgerow Heroes project) as she shares her hands-on experience revitalising hedgerows near Chichester.

This talk is part of a series of hedgerow talks this winter hosted by CPRE as part of the Hedgerow Heroes campaign. Thirteen CPRE branches across the country are running Hedgerow Heroes projects, working to increase and improve the hedgerow networks across England. This talk has been organised by CPRE Hampshire
Tickets are free but you need to book via Eventbrite.
